From Toronto with Love

November 24, 2015

Hi Everyone!

This past week has been terrible since a lot is happening all over the planet! On tv, newspaper, internet and everywhere All we see is death, it’s like there is no more humanity!

It makes me really sad to see all these lives taken away because of religion! I grew up in a country that was destroyed by war , saw many people dying and had to leave and start a new life here in Canada 13 years ago again because of it! Trust me, it’s not easy. Until today, a part of me is still bleeding and wondering what my life would be today if all this never happened! You get separated from what you love (friends, family, life), then you have to start everything all over again from the beginning and sometimes it’s easy and other times it could be really hard when everything you had is taken away from you. At that young age, I had my group of girlfriends and we were inseparable. We used to see each other every day, go to our dance classes together, organize sleepovers every weekend and of course travel in the summertime again together! (I still talk to these ladies, thank god for Facebook and Skype).Nothing could separate us at that time apart war.Yeah , some of you could think it’s nothing important but when you are a kid and your life change from a day to another, it can be hard…

I came to Toronto I was 14 years old. At that age, I didn’t know a word in English and never experienced cold weather or snow in my life hahahha! Like I mentioned it, my family and I started all over our life here in Toronto today and my life is probably different, better or not, who knows from the life I would have if I was still there!

Long story short Toronto is my city now! I live here and still travel a lot, but my heart and soul is still in Ivory coast!!!!

For this shoot I went to one of my favorite places in Toronto. I always go there when I want to be alone and far from the city. Being close to the water takes me away and makes me feel like I am away 🙂 and brings back great memories.

I am wearing a suit from The kooples!

My boots are from Doc martens
